About

Let is shine!

I’m a Washingtonian with southern roots raised by a loving Bible believing Christian family. Grandma Brown took one look at her grandson and exclaimed, “He gonna be a preacher!” I haven’t gotten the call yet to stand behind the pulpit, but the stage and camera are my alter. Ever since I saw The Lion King on Broadway at 12 years old, I knew I was destined to be an entertainer.

My earliest award was for being the best male monologuist at the NC High School Thespian Festival. I also represented my state with the ESU Shakespeare Recitation Contest in 2009. I furthered my studies at the illustrious Howard University. Under the late Al Freemn Jr. I was given the St. Claire Christmas award for being an adept scholar and actor. I had my directorial debut with Thoughts of a Colored Man at Oxford University which spearheaded me into my graduate studies at UMKC/Kansas City Repertory Theatre.

As an Equity actor, I have worked Off-Broadway twice. Performed in LORT Theatres around the country and stage managed a number of dance recitals and performances. I work with young people as a teaching artist and English teacher. I strive to uplift everyone I meet by letting my light shine.
